This is a powerful laxative herb. It should not be used without advice and never taken for more than 2 weeks. Senna should only be used in the most obstinate cases of constipation and preferably as part of a bowel re-training programme in combination with Psyllium husks.
Do not use Senna for longer than 14 days. Do not exceed the stated dose. Seekl advice from a herbalist of symptoms persist after this time period. Not suitable for children. Do not take senna if you suffer from inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis.
